Our Terms of Hire – Self Storage Newport Berkeley

These Terms of Hire set out the conditions under which you (the customer) rent storage space from K Storage. This may include a 20ft storage container or an allocated outdoor vehicle storage space. By entering into a rental agreement with us, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions.

1. About K Storage

K Storage operates from Chapel Hill, Berkeley, Newport, Gloucestershire, GL13 9PZ. We provide 20ft x 8ft secure shipping containers for household and business storage, along with outdoor storage for cars, vans, caravans, motorhomes and trailers within our fenced and gated storage site.

2. Hire Agreement

The hire agreement begins on the date of your first payment and continues on a rolling monthly basis unless terminated by either party under these terms. A rental agreement is considered active once payment is received and either a container or a vehicle storage space has been allocated to you.

3. Storage Use

Containers and vehicle storage spaces must only be used for storage. You may not use any part of the site or any container or parking space for:

• Living, sleeping or habitation of any kind
• Operating a business, workshop or retail activity from the unit or parking space
• Storing hazardous, flammable, illegal, perishable or environmentally harmful materials

All goods and vehicles are stored entirely at your own risk. Customers using containers are responsible for securing their unit with a suitable padlock. Vehicles must be locked and secured by the customer.

4. Access and Site Security

Access to the site is provided via automatic gated entry. The site is fully fenced and designed for secure storage use. While security measures are in place, K Storage does not provide manned guarding and does not accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage. Customers are strongly advised to insure their stored goods or vehicles.

5. Payment Terms

Rent is payable monthly in advance for both container hire and vehicle storage. Payments must be made on or before the due date. Failure to pay may result in:

• Suspension of site access
• Late payment fees
• Termination of the agreement

If payment is overdue by more than 30 days, K Storage reserves the right to treat the container or vehicle as abandoned and may remove, sell or dispose of stored goods or vehicles to recover outstanding fees and associated costs.

6. Deposit (If Applicable)

A refundable deposit may be required. The deposit will be returned at the end of the hire period, provided the container or vehicle space is left clear, clean and undamaged.

7. Your Responsibilities

As a customer, you agree to:

• Keep the container or vehicle space in good condition
• Ensure no damage is caused to the container, fencing, gates or surrounding areas
• Keep your contact and billing details up to date
• Comply with all site rules, safety signage and access procedures

You must not sublet or share your container or parking space without written permission from K Storage.

8. Ending the Hire

You may terminate the agreement by giving at least 7 days’ written notice. K Storage may terminate the agreement with 14 days’ notice, or immediately in cases of breach of terms, non-payment or unlawful use.

Upon termination, you must:

• Vacate the container or parking space by the agreed date
• Remove all stored goods or vehicles
• Leave the storage area clean and undamaged

Failure to clear the space may result in removal or disposal of goods or vehicles and charges for cleaning, storage or damage.

9. Liability

K Storage is not liable for any loss or damage to goods or vehicles stored on site. This includes, but is not limited to, loss or damage caused by theft, fire, water, weather, pests, vandalism or force majeure events.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

10. Changes to Terms

K Storage reserves the right to update these Terms of Hire at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or displayed on our website.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
